Add a chatbot to your Wix site without a plugin

1. Get the Chatbot Script

  • Log into your bntr account.
  • Obtain the HTML code by selecting ‘Get Embed Code’ on your chatbot, in the ‘My Chatbots’ section of your account.
  • Copy the script based on how you will be displaying your chatbot; either in an iframe or floating at the bottom on your webpage.


2: Log in to Your Wix Account

  • Open your web browser and go to Wix.
  • Click on Sign In and enter your credentials to access your account.


3: Access Your Site’s Editor

  • After logging in, select the site where you want to add the chatbot.
  • Click on Edit Site to open the Wix Editor.


4: Go to the Tracking & Analytics Section

  • In the Wix Editor, click on Settings in the left-hand menu.
  • From the Settings menu, select Tracking & Analytics.


5: Add a New Custom Code

  • In the Tracking & Analytics section, click on + New Tool and select Custom from the dropdown menu.
  • In the Custom Code window, fill in the following details:
    • Name: Enter a name for your code (e.g., “Chatbot Script”).
    • Code snippet: Paste the script from step 1
  • Add Code to Pages: Select All pages.
  • Place Code in: Choose Head.


6: Apply and Save

  • Click on Apply to add the script to your site.
  • Return to the Wix Editor and click on Publish to make the changes live.


7: Preview Your Site

  • After publishing, click on Preview to see how the chatbot appears on your site.
  • Ensure that the chatbot is functioning as expected.


Troubleshooting

  • If the chatbot does not appear, ensure the script is correctly pasted in the Custom Code window.
  • Clear your browser cache and refresh the page.
  • Make sure any ad-blockers or script blockers are disabled while testing.
